Shooting Takes Place Outside Convenience Store

During early morning hours on Friday, one man was shot outside of a Phoenix area convenience store. Police say that the victim was shot at 12:30 AM while standing in the store's parking lot and following the shooting, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers report that two groups were involved in a fight which led to the shooting. At this time, they are uncertain what the fight was about, but say that the only person shot was the 26-year-old male victim.

Following the altercation, police searched for the people involved and found several individuals gathered inside a nearby apartment complex. The individuals were detained and submitted to questioning, but it is not certain if any arrests were made at that time. Officers are also in the process of questioning witnesses for further information.
