Gary Nielsen
About
Gary Nielsen’s legal journey began with a strong focus on trial advocacy during law school, where he distinguished himself by competing in the National Board of Trial Advocacy’s Tournament of Champions in Washington, D.C. This experience laid the foundation for his commitment to mastering trial skills and defending clients' rights.
Mr. Nielsen went on to serve two terms as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Brian Y. Furuya at the Arizona Court of Appeals, where he was instrumental in drafting opinions and memorandum decisions across a spectrum of criminal and civil appeals, with a particular emphasis on complex criminal issues. His work for Arnold & Itkin LLP allowed him to further hone his legal research and writing skills, where he played a key role in successfully defending a $90 million punitive damage award against a post-trial challenge on a $557 million jury verdict.
Mr. Nielsen now leverages this diverse experience to effectively spot key legal issues and champion the constitutional rights of those accused of misdemeanors and felonies.
