Serial Sex Crime Offender Located

Although it took them over a decade to locate the suspect, police in Phoenix, Arizona have finally tracked down the man they believe to be responsible for committing multiple sex crimes.

The 37-year-old man has been accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting three women over ten years ago. The oldest, a 19-year-old girl, was forced to go with him and was raped. Both of the victims, age 14, were threatened at gunpoint and force to accompany him to be assaulted. Thanks to advances in science, the three crimes were finally linked in 2008 by DNA evidence.

When the suspect was arrested on an unrelated drug conviction, his DNA was obtained and entered into the Combined DNA Index System. It was a match to the three crimes and he was arrested for the sex crime against each victim, as well as multiple felonies.

Police now believe that there may be other victims as well that have yet to be identified.
