Motorcyclist Hit and Killed at Intersection

In the city of Phoenix, police were saddened to report that a motorcyclist was hit and killed at a local intersection during evening hours on Monday.

According to officers, emergency response crews arrived at the scene of the motorcycle accident and immediately rushed the 33-year-old male victim to a nearby hospital. However, his injuries were critical and he later died while receiving treatment.

Investigators working on the case discovered that a SUV failed to give the biker the right of way while driving across the intersection. The two vehicles collided and the motorcyclist was flung from his bike. Officers say that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred, but were unsure if it was strapped on properly. They also reported that at the time of the collision, the driver of the SUV was not under the influence.
